Office of Research Website Migration

The Reason

The School of Health and Human Sciences needed to migrate the Office of Research website from its outdated legacy platform to the main HHS site. The goal was to create a unified, accessible, and easy to maintain web presence that reflected the department’s active research initiatives and met modern accessibility standards.

The Process

I began by auditing the existing site to identify outdated content and missing links. From there, I organized the structure of research pages and resources to ensure a logical flow within the new content management system.

During migration, I updated all text, links, and media to comply with WCAG accessibility guidelines. I also refined formatting, adjusted contrast, and added clear headings to improve readability for all visitors.

Once the content was transferred, I conducted manual checks across desktop and mobile devices to confirm layout consistency, functional links, and accurate metadata alignment.

The Result

The new Office of Research section on the HHS website provides a modern, accessible, and cohesive user experience that aligns with UNCG’s web standards. The improved structure makes it easier for faculty, students, and visitors to locate research opportunities and resources.
